When a loved one passes, his or her assets must then be transferred to the next of kin and any other beneficiaries. In Louisiana, this is referred to as the succession process. If the deceased left a valid will and testament, this is known as a testate succession, and through the appropriate legal channels, the estate would be divvied up accordingly. However, if there is no valid will, the family must go through the state's intestate succession process, in order to fairly divide everything among the rightful kin. With most estate liquidation companies, clients are forced to look elsewhere to find a lawyer that will help navigate them through these proceedings, but at Southern Estate Brokers, all of these services are available in house.
